This morning's Diane Rehm Show focused on the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Democratic Republic of Congo. It's been in the news a lot lately because more than 1 million people have been displaced, because there is increasing use of child soldiers and rape as a weapon of war, because more than 5 million people have died because of the conflict since it started 10 years ago. So instead of just listening to the news about Congo, let it drive you to action.

Thanks for bringing this to the foreground... What is happening in Congo is one more humanitarian disaster to add to the sad list of Sudan, Chad, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan...

If you have the necessary skills you may be able to volunteer or work for Doctors Without Borders, the International Red Cross, World Vision, or a similar organization.
You may want to write your elected officials to ask them to act or allocate funds to act in the Congo.
You can also help educate others about the situation and they ways they can promote a resolution.
And of course, you can donate. Don't discount your donation. Every little bit helps. And if you don't have money, consider donating time, in kind goods, profits from your blog or Ebay sales, etc.
