Make a free donation.

One of the easiest (though often not the most effective) ways to make a difference is to send a check. But most of us don't have all that much money to share. Thankfully, there are several ways to make a monetary donation, even if you don't have any cash. Here's how it works. All you have to do is click. Advertisers make a donation for each click received.

It couldn't be easier to make a difference! Ready to get started? Just click the button to make your donation. Freedonation.com helps you support work in the following areas:

* HIV/AIDS education.
* Arts accessibility.
* Breast cancer education and support.
* Hunger prevention.
* Homelessness eradication.
* Environmental protection.
* Childhood and adult education.
* Care for children.

* And for six more opportunities to make free donations, see the January 26th post. There, you can support work in breast cancer detection, hunger prevention, environmental protection, animal protection, child health, and literacy.

Here are the organizations that are supported. If your organization would like to receive funds, click here to apply. Don't forget: click daily to make your free donations. Donate time or supplies and share your talents to support the causes that matter to you. And when you can, send a check. Your community will appreciate it.

I'm glad you find it useful, Steve. I think these are the easiest, fastest, cheapest ways to contribute. It takes about one minute to go though all 14 sites. There's no reason not to do it.

Thanks for stopping by, and please spread the word about these. Together, we can have an even bigger impact!

Hi Karama

I hope all is well for you and your loved ones. I'm going to check on registering Nyaka as one of the donation recipients with FreeDonation.com.

Thanks for the info as always.

Let me know how it goes, Beronda. I hope it works out. It would be a great help for Nyaka School.

Blessings to you and your family.

If you want to make even easier donations, see the June 3rd post.

I asked a friend of mine to write a simple script to help remember to do the clicking. It doesn't do the clicking for you - which would not be nice - it just directs you to the page when a day has passed (when you open your browser).

Check it out:

Let me know what you think!

If anyone wants to use a different click to donate site or a different home page, just email me and I will make a script for you. Just use the form at Easy Donations' contacts page.

Thanks a lot, Juuso! That script will be handy for those who have trouble remembering to click. I just do it everytime I turn on my computer. Thanks also for maintaining easydonations.com. That's a great service.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to "So what can I do." Please stop by again soon, and spread the word!

I used to do this years ago, but somehow dropped that habit. Thanks for the reminder :-) I'll start the daily clicking again.

Every click counts! I'm glad you're back on board, Josita.

Thanks for visiting "So what can I do." I hope you'll stop by again soon!

This from the American Cancer Society:

Free Mammograms

Rumor:

All of us want to feel like we’re doing something to care for those in need. One email says that by simply clicking on a breast cancer Web site, “a woman gets a free mammogram at no cost to you.” The email says corporate sponsors who advertise on the site pay for the mammograms and that you can click on the site only once.

Fact:

In fact, this is not a scam, and the email is, for the most part, accurate. However, it takes not one click but tens of thousands to pay for each mammogram. And you are not limited to one click total, but one click per day. It’s important to note that the breast cancer site is a for-profit company, not a non-profit charity.
